A Santa Monica daily has reported an interesting development in our neighborhood which we had to share with you. According to the daily, following the acquisition of the Mann Criterion 6, located near Arizona Avenue, AMC Entertainment now as monopoly over all the three theaters on the Third Street Promenade.

If there are any apprehensions regarding the hike in ticket prices resulting out of the monopolizing of the theaters, as of now the assurance has been provided against any such moves. Miriam Mack, City Hall’s economic development manager, in an interview with the daily said, “AMC’s monopoly on the promenade shouldn’t mean higher ticket prices or fewer movie options” rather now, “it will give AMC more clout in our movie zone.” Well we hope so too!
