
Heal the Bay’s Santa Monica Pier Aquarium invites artists to find their inspiration at the Aquarium, 1600 Ocean Front Walk, during Artist Night from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. For the second time this year, the marine education center invites participants to sketch, paint, and take photos of any of the Aquarium’s more than 100 local species on exhibit, including our new seahorse exhibit. This two-hour photography/art session will be available to 25 participants only on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP by calling 310-393-6149, x 106. Suggested donations of $5 per person are welcome. The Aquarium is located beach level, beneath the historic Carousel at the Santa Monica Pier.
About the SMPA
The Santa Monica Pier Aquarium is Heal the Bay’s marine education facility located beach-level, just below the Carousel, at the Santa Monica Pier. The Aquarium is open to the general public and attracts more than 85,000 visitors per year. Since Heal the Bay acquired the Aquarium in 2003 from UCLA, more than 475,000 visitors have been welcomed during public hours and approximately 108,000 students have been educated during in-house education programs .
