Francine Pares from the Big Blue Bus informed us about the community meetings that will be held to discuss a variety of new Big Blue Bus projects and initiatives for 2010. Some of these projects include bus stop redevelopment program, proposed fare restructure proposal, redevelopment of the Tide Ride, the agency’s new proposed website, and the new hybrid buses that will be joining the fleet sometime this year.

These series of community meetings will take place in January and early February and will seek public opinion and inputs on the above stated proposed projects and other topics of interest to the Santa Monica residents.

The community meetings will be held on:

· January 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the L.A. City Library, 2920 Overland Avenue, Los Angeles.
· January 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Montana Branch Library, 1704 Montana Blvd, Santa Monica.
· January 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fairview Branch Library, 2101 Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica.
· January 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica.
· February 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Main Library in Santa Monica.

All locations can be accessed via the Big Blue Bus. It is important for the Santa Monica community to participate in these meetings and help shape and structure the future of these projects in a manner that maintains the interest of both the community and the Big Blue Bus.
