Environmental advocate Terry O’ Day has been appointed to the Santa Monica City Council to serve in the seat left vacant after the death of Mayor Ken Genser last month. O’ Day who has been residing in Santa Monica for 12-years will be serving in the position until Nov 2. 2010. O’ Day is currently serving as the executive director of the group Environment Now. He formerly served as president of EV Rental Cars, the only rental company in the United States that offers environmentally friendly vehicles such as hybrid, natural gas, and electric cars to the general public.
Prior to EV Rental Cars, he was responsible for business development and strategic planning for Edison Enterprises, a subsidiary of Edison International. O’ Day holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Stanford University and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
